The residential lease extension market is highly specialised and expertise matters. We recognised early on that there was a shortage of surveyors who truly understood the complexities of the 1993 Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act and the valuation principles involved.

Meet the Managing Director – David Goldstone
David Goldstone, Managing Director and Owner of Capital Leasehold, brings more than 25 years of hands-on experience in Section 42 lease extensions. Having worked extensively throughout London and the M25 area, David has developed a deep understanding of the market and the nuances that influence valuation outcomes.
David’s vision for Capital Leasehold is built on three principles:

- Value – offering clients a cost-effective alternative to larger surveying practices

For many years David acted for numerous corporate and private clients as the Head of the Lease Extension & Enfranchisement Division of John D Wood & Company covering London and the M25 and the Home Counties before being appointed as a Partner of Capital Leasehold Chartered Surveyors.
David has acquired over 25 years of specialist knowledge as a Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer in this specialist area of the lease extension of residential flats and enfranchisement of small blocks of flats (a minimum of two flats joining together in order to force the freeholder to sell the freehold at a fair price). David has acted for the owners of flats in every London postcode and has dealt with many thousands of section 42 claims over the last 25 years with a total commitment to ensuring flat owners do not overpay for the lease extension or the freehold.
David has obtained a well deserved reputation for fighting hard when instructed to enter negotiations against all types of corporate and individual freeholders in order to obtain the very best deal available for the flat owners. David continues to act for a full range of flat owners in London from Belgravia through to Brixton and Chelsea through to Croydon and furthermore Capital Leasehold also have access to a network of surveyors acting for flat owners in the Home Counties and the East of England.

After studying at Bristol Polytechnic, Fraser started his London property career in West Hampstead then qualified in 1986 whilst working for Healey & Baker.
Shortly after qualifying he moved to Barnard Marcus in Clapham, leaving SW4 to set up and manage the Mayfair Professional Office. In 1991 Fraser joined the Inland Revenue’s Valuation Office as a Senior Valuer based in Wimbledon where he gained 10 years experience in valuing anything from houseboats to flour mills.
He left to re-enter the private sector initially in Commercial Property as an Associate Director of Stiles Harold Williams at their Thames Valley Office before moving back into Residential Surveying and Valuation.
He is a founding partner of both Capital Leasehold and Capital Chartered Surveyors and Valuers.
